Is there a coupon policy for TRU? Today I went to the one in Pleasant Hill and they would not allow me to use 2 coupons in one transaction. I bought the Elefun and Gator Golf games. The cashier said I could only use 1 coupon per purchase and I said yes, I am purchasing 1 of each item. Then another clerk chimed in and said, oh our system has changed this week and it will only take one coupon per transaction. I told her that was interesting because I bought Toy Story 1 and 2 last week with 2 coupons in 1 transaction and I did another deal with Baby Einstein DVDs over the weekend. This if the first time I’ve ever encountered a problem at this location. Any advice?

i just called TRU because i could not find a coupon policy and i wanted to know if it was worth the trip and the associate and a surpervisor both said they accept no manufactor coupons. In the past they have for me but the surpervisor said only babys r us will. anyone tried this deal?

Tried this morning and could not use B1G1 coupon to score free; the coupon states it “cannot be used with any other offer”.

I just used a manufacturer coupon for a sit n spin yesterday in Pinole at the TRU. I might try this deal today. I will post my results later in the day…

Darn. Well I’m not going to waste my time going to Pleasant Hill then. I will try Pinole too. I won’t squawk too much if I can’t get the free ones, but I have used two coupons when they had a BOGO sale before and they better not say anything. I don’t understand the logic here! I mean, you are purchasing 2 items! You should be able to use a coupon for each. It’s so frustrating!

Linda or anyone else… let me know how it goes because I don’t want to waste a trip to the stores if it won’t work.

Didn’t work for me this morning at TRU, said it doesn’t combine with their promo. Didn’t even scan as well when the cashier first tried it.

I went to Pinole TRU and worked perfectly!! I had a new cashier and she had the manager helping her out. I had the single ponies rung up on one transaction (because if you get two playsets and two ponies, the two ponies will come up free as the bogo always takes off the lowest items). The manager (named Jim if anyone is going to Pinole TRU today!) told the gal to punch in the amount for the ponies ($5.49) then he did that pause that happens a lit when you use the bogo coupons. I chimed in and said, “they’re basically all free cause the coupon pays…” then he nods his head! He nodded his head cause he KNEW about the deal!!! He KNEW how a bogo sale/bogo coupon deal works!!!! I was elated!! I’m writing an email to corporate when I get home to express my LOVE for Jim and my cashier!! I had some anxiety about even trying the deal as a lot of people have been denied, but so glad I tried!! I then got two playsets, used 2 $5/1 coupons for them and I also had a $3/$3 for my daughter’s birthday so I got 4 ponies for free ($1.07 for tax) and 2 playsets for $8.65 after tax! I’m stoked!!

I called the one in Pittsburg to check, didnt want to load the kids up and go for no reason. Good thing I called, they won’t take the coupon with the sale. She said a girl went in earlier and tried it and they wouldn’t let her get them for free :(

I just went to the TRU in Tacoma, WA and they let me use my coupons no problem. I got 4 ponys and 2 playsets for about $12 after tax. Yay! Lots of kids in my family so these will make great gifts!

I went to the TRU in Newark, and they wouldn’t let the B1G1 coupon work. I was bummed!

Rachelle, I think it totally depends on what random person checks you out. I went today (to the same location), the ponies were gone, but I went for the game deal as well. I had no problem using two coupons for two games. I also went Sunday and did the same with no problem and the week before, used the Toy Story coupons to purchase those dvd’s. Never has there been even so much as a question. It’s frustrating how each experience, sometimes even at the same location, can be so unpredictable. At other stores, on other deals, I have definitely been turned down when attempting to use certain coupons. I just say, “Thank you, but I don’t want the item,” and I try another store! Not worth the hassle!

I did the deal with no problems or hassles today at P.Hill Toys R Us. The manager even told me how their were a bunch of people who got the ponies free with coupons today…. It must depend on who your cashier/manager is when you’re there.

I also had no problem in Pinole. My cashier was very nice. I got there just as a lady was taking about 8 of them, and then I got 4 and there were only 2 left! Sweet deal..I am giving them to a couple friends as basket stuffers =)
