Here is a compilation of all the Black Friday tablet deals we pulled from the ads. They are sorted by screen size, and then listed by price from low to high. Definitely check the Amazon links – for reviews, and in some cases you can get the tablets cheaper through Amazon than you can on Black Friday!
The undisputed king of tablets is the iPad 2. If you want the best of the best and budget isn’t an issue, then it’s cut-and-dry – get an iPad 2. If you absolutely want an iPad but can’t afford the starting price of $499 for an iPad 2, you can pick up refurbished original iPad and iPad 2′s at Apple’s refurbished store. The cheapest one in the store right now is $399.
Android tablets have been out for a while, but none of them have been big hits yet. It looks like the Kindle Fire may change that – with a $199 price tag, it’s much more budget friendly than the iPad. If you’re just really wanting a tablet, this is probably the one for you. Mashable did a great comparison of a bunch of reviews – go check it out. While the Kindle Fire isn’t an iPad killer, one reviewer had this to say: “It can do 80% of what my iPad can do for 40% of the price.” While you will be able to find deals on tablets for just under $100 this Black Friday season, unless $100 is your budget I would recommend the Kindle Fire over any cheap tablet. Also, the majority of the tablets going for super cheap are running Android 2.2 instead of 3.2, so you’re stuck with an older version of the operating system.
The iPad 2 is not listed in any Black Friday ads this year The iPad 2 can be found for $54 off at Bestbuy.com right now! - it must be nice to be king! You can check it out over on Amazon.
The Kindle Fire, on the other hand, is listed in several ads, all for the same $199 sticker price that you will find on Amazon.

What’s your opinion about the ipad2 being on sale online per stated in the best buy ad….I’m just wondering – if I should try to get online or just go to the store.
Mr Frugal November 16, 2011 at 4:33 pm
If they’re on sale in store they’ll be gone fast – you’ll have to be in the front of the line to have a chance to get one.

Thank you!!!! How would you rate the HP touchpad? It has great reviews but im touchpad senseless lol
Mr Frugal November 16, 2011 at 4:31 pm
Don’t have any experience with it personally; my main concern is that it’s WebOS based, and no one knows what’s happening with WebOS right now. Also, the Apple and Android app stores have TONS more apps than WebOS will ever have.

I love my touchpad & if you can score one in the $150 range it’s probably worth it. There are 1,000+ apps and more keep trickling out — far, far fewer than ipad, of course, but plenty to keep you busy. But yes, future of WebOS is murky.

Any thoughts or news on the Nook tablet? Supposedly it is much faster than the old Nook color and runs on the newer version of Android but I don’t know much about it, or any hints of black friday deals for it.
Jolene Hughes November 19, 2011 at 5:36 pm
Check out this review on the nook verses the amazon fire. It’s a very good review with a video to show them both.
