I like the black and white one the best. :-)

Normally, I would say the maroon, because any shade of red is my favorite. BUT, I LOVE the white and black one. It is so unique. So, the white and black one gets my vote!

I have to go with the Black and White. It’s gorgeous.

Although the maroon one can be dressed up with a variety of jewelry, I agree that the B&W one is unique–my vote is for B&W!

I love the black and white one also!

Yep, B&W is so cute! I think it would be more unique and it IS adorable! :)

I think that the white and black on would look great on you!

Ok. I know I am the only guy that is responding, but I feel like I am in touch with my feminine side.. I like the black and white one also! :)

I guess im the only one who pics the maroon dress.
Maybe because im a younger reader? im 23 so our taste might be different.
BTW how old r u?
The reason I pick maroon is because it seems like it will be more shaply to your body. The black and white look like after your chest it will king of hang there.

I like the maroon one, too, but I’m partial to solid colors for me. ;)
Pick whichever one makes you feel the best!

The maroon one looks a little more rich. I think as the evening goes on you will feel more comfortable in it over the thinner straps of the B&W. And if something gets spilled, it will be less obvious on the dark material. Have fun – love his singing.

I think the maroon dress would look really nice on you also. Not sure about anyone else but for me the way to really tell is if you try them both on and show us what each would look like. Just my 2 cents.

Have fun and let us know which one you end up choosing.

I choose maroon… if you put a sweater on you will cover most of upper detail of the black and white one. The maroon is classic and can be worn with a bolero or sweater or whatever… add some jewelry and an up-do and girl, you are set! (Not just that, but the black and white one reminded me of lingerie… gasp!) Tell Harry I said hi… in my mind we are good friends. :)

Black and white one!

Hi, I think you and I are about the same age and my vote is red. Although the black and white is pretty, I don’t think it is dressy enough. It would look great in a day setting maybe at a bridal shower. Yes, some fantastic jewelry with the red dress would make you look like a million bucks!

I think you should pick the one in the most flattering color to your skin tone. If you have warm undertones to your skin, the beige/black one may look best. If cool undertones, the burgundy one. I suspect you would look most stunning in the maroon one; I think the beige one may wash you out too much. The burgundy one would be a gorgeous contrast to your beautiful blonde hair, too! Which one looks best on you? That is probably the winner!

The maroon dress looks more sophisticated. It also looks like it would be a more flattering fit.

Either one would be GREAT, but I choose the B&W one! (BTW-Harry Connick Jr.? Borderline jealousy here!!!!! :)

I think the black & white would look very cute on you Julia! Maybe with some black pumps. Good luck!

The maroon/red dress with a dramatic necklace, or dramatic earrings (but not both!).

I’m leaning towards the maroon/burgandy one. I think the color would look great with your blonde hair! Do we get a fashion show??

Reply

kristen January 21, 2010 at 12:32 pm

Definitely the red one!

MAROON! Maroon dress hands down. I like the B&W, but just not as much for this particular event. I think the maroon solid color and classic cut will look great on camera.

I like the red one best but they are both great! Have a great time!

LOVE the B&W dress, but I vote maroon… mostly because solid colors photograph better, and I’m sure you’re going to be taking lots of pictures! You can dress up the solid color with so many things, from jewelry to a pretty sweater/jacket depending how cold it is… the B&W one loses some of it’s uniqueness once you cover it up. Have fun!

Congrats on your great deals!!!!! WOW 6.99 for Ann Taylor!!!
I think you should wear the Ann Taylor, they are both very pretty but I am sure the quality is much better on the Ann Taylor and it still looks new and very stylish. I think you really can tell when someone wears a quality made dress. I hope you have a nice time, and I am sure you will look good in either one.

I vote for the maroon one–so does Harry–it’s his favorite color! =)

i was going to vote for the b&w dress, as it is more unique. and i still think i will vote for it. i think kerry’s comment about solid color photographing better might be a good factor to consider, though. so…. i think you should try both on with the sweater / wrap you’re thinking of wearing with it, have someone take a quickie digital picture, and then decide based on how you look with each. either way, i’m sure you will look great. have fun!

kiesha January 21, 2010 at 9:45 pm

the maroon one is more sutiable for the event!

grapevinesoaper January 22, 2010 at 11:58 pm

I’m voting for the red too, so maybe you can find a wrap or sweater with some fun detail.

Hard to tell for sure without seeing them on you, but I’m going for the quality on this one.

Have fun!!!
