I shared a little bit about our journey in exploring where oure food comes from and finding frugal ways to feed our brood whole foods on a budget. Quite simply, I’m find that it’s actually more affordable than I thought – fresh ingredients are often cheaper than prepackaged and especially so when your meals are made with in-season veggies. Of course organic is almost always more expensive, but I’ve found some wiggle room in my budget for the ingredients that matter, the dirty dozen. I found out today that the critically acclaimed food documentaryFRESH is going to be available to watch online for FREE between Jan 26-Feb 1st. Here is a little snippet about the movie…
FRESH celebrates the farmers, thinkers and business people across America who are re-inventing our food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity. Forging healthier, sustainable alternatives, they offer a practical vision for a future of our food and our planet.
It definitely looks interesting to me so I thought I’d share it with you as well. If you plan to watch the movie, make sure you get signed up so you’ll have access when you’re ready to watch.
