Wanchai Ferry Review & Giveaway!

So we sat down on Tuesday night after a pretty hectic day and just before a hectic night was about to start.  I had a whole 30 minutes to cook dinner.  Takeout was calling my name but the Wanchai dinner was on my meal plan and I wanted to stick to it.  So I embarked on an chinese dinner feast.  At one point I had 3 frying pans going strong with potstickers, fried rice, and Wanchai Orange Chicken.  It got a little overwhelming! Of course you know I also had 4 kids in and out of the kitchen.

In the end…

The Wanchai Orange Chicken was delicious!  The chicken actually remained crunchy, the sauce was incredible, and the vegetables actually tasted fresh.  Now we didn’t put it over the rice that it came with because I just didn’t pay attention enough to know it had it’s own rice.  That is why I had the 3rd frying pan going for fried rice.  On the downside, it really was 2 servings, I don’t think you could stretch this much farther.  Also, I have seen them go anywhere from $6.00-$9.00 a bag.   That’s a little high for our budget, but it was tasty and it sure does beat the cost of eating out.

However it’s pretty affordable with this coupon…

$3.50/1 Frozen Wanchai Ferry Entree

Each frozen entrée has all the ingredients needed to prepare a great-tasting, complete Chinese meal for 2 in only 14 minutes! They come in five delicious flavors including Orange Chicken, Shrimp Lo Mein, Spicy Garlic Chicken, Sweet & Sour Chicken and Sweet & Spicy Shrimp. Additionally, all of the entrees have no added MSG!

In one of my fortune cookies, it said, “Change is coming.” How did they know? (haha)

I don’t remember the exact words, but it said something like “This year you will find your soul mate” and my boyfriend (now husband) was sitting right across from me!

I worked in a newsroom where one of the editors was a Chinese takeout addict. Every night, a sack of Chinese food. A girl in the typesetting department created a perfect fortune cookie slip for us that read, STU, YOU EAT TOO DAMN MUCH CHINESE FOOD. We slipped it into his bag that night. Never seen eyes so big or a face so red …

The best and interesting one I got was years back, it was something like “now it’s the time to make new friends”, then I met DH!
