These are recommended for 36 months and older. Previously, I think I read that you shared that someone’s 18 month old enjoyed their KidKraft kitchen, as I believe our 18 month old would. Do you know if there are applicable safety reasons not to get this for a child under 36 months old?

My guess would be that they could climb on it, maybe pinch fingers in the doors. I don’t know, I always say we know our children best when it comes to these things. My son was playing with real legos at 2 years old because he had 2 older brothers. They never went into his mouth.

Agreed. Are there any small, loose parts that you know of?

No there aren’t, of course if you buy the food etc that could be the case. I’d suggest reading the reviews, I see many parents have purchased it for their children younger than 2yrs old and seem to love it!

We got a Kidcraft kitchen for my older daughter when she was 20 months and my younger daughter has played with it since she could reach it. (she is now 2.5 years) I think the age limit is also there so it is a practical age for them to reach the upper levels and play with it entirely. My daughter is a climber but never climbed up on our kidcraft kitchen. It has been a family favorite.

It was my 18 month old. There are no small parts to the Kidkraft kitchen. Everything is built solid. The only thing I can think of, and it never happened with us, it could tip over. Ours came with wall mounts but we never used them since we were renting at the time. Em never even attempted to climb, she could barely reach the faucet handles. I think that’s why it’s been so great, the new discoveries over time!

I think I should work for Kidkraft since I’ve been bragging about them for two years now! ;) But we had a “no plastic” rule in our house and I’m so glad we did I love the look of it too!

@cam bowman, we have a “no plastic” rule, too. for the exception of her babpy doll and hand-me-down baby stroller, all her toys/bed/[soon-to-be toy box and chairs/table] are wood or cloth. :) we love it, too…it looks nice and wears better which means it will pass down/consign better. :)

Unless it has changed, I bought this for my boys two years ago at ages 14months and 2 1/2 years. Ages 3 and 4 now they still love it and it has been well used. It may possibly tip over but I never did anything special with mine and it never tipped over even with a nephew who climbed on it. Mine has seen a lot of boy action and after two years is still holding up great and well used by kids of all ages. One other perk I personally liked is it doesn’t take up as much room as some kitchens. And please note this looks to be the same thing I bought two years ago. Well worth the money.

@Lynnae My only gripe about the “no plastic” rule so far is the wooden kitchen food…OUCH! ;)
