UPDATE: please try this phone number 925-302-1615
Well it looks like the fuss we made about the missing coupon inserts paid off, CBS 5 did a few interviews with our readers and our blog post got the attention of the Contra Costa Times. Last night Michael Switzer left the following comment on The Frugal Find:
An error in scheduling caused the newsstand copies of the Times to be without coupon inserts on a couple recent Sundays. That problem has been corrected and you should have found quite a few coupon inserts in this past Sunday’s paper. If you purchased a paper without inserts and would like a refund, please contact our office (925-302-1710) and we will take care of your request. We are pleased that so many shoppers take advantage of the money-saving coupons in the Times and are very sorry for the inconvenience this problem may have caused you.

Thank you all for bringing this to our attention and for speaking up about this issue. I still have an awesome deal in the works for the following newspapers: (San Mateo County Times, Marin Independent Journal, Oakland Tribune, Alameda Times-Star, Santa Cruz Sentinel, Monterey County Herald, San Jose Mercury News, Contra Costa Times, The Daily Review, Tri-Valley Herald, Fremont Argus)
I just wanted to hold off until we got this issue resolved, so hopefully that’s the end of that!

Ijust tried to call that number and it’s answered by an automated message for someone other than Michael Switzer or the CoCo Times.
Can you double check that number?

Now if I could only fine out what is happening with the SF Examiner coupon inserts on Sunday’s, the one that gets delivered to the house has all the inserts and the one I get at the machines only has the RedPlum. I have tried calling them but no return call as of yet, and this has been going on since August.

Has anyone else received a call from the Contra Costa Times saying they can’t afford to deliver Sunday only deliveries anymore and are canceling your subscription and refunding your money?
I was getting multiple Sunday newspapers for the coupons (most of the time the inserts were in them) but now they will no longer deliver multiple copies and said I had to buy at the newsstand. No other options were allowed.
