Books

  • Average Joe by Troy Meeder – “Average Joe is a must-read for any guy who questions whether his life can make a difference in the world. Honest and straightforward, Troy reminds us that being ‘average’ does not equate with mediocrity and that with God nothing is impossible.”
    —Eric Close, actor, director, CBS
  • Game Plan for Life: Your Personal Playbook for Success by Joe Gibbs – “Coach Gibbs shares the principles that have guided him to success in every area of his life and explains how you can make those same principles work for you. “
  • Mud, Sweat, and Tears: The Autobiography of Bear Grylls – “Bear Grylls has always sought the ultimate in adventure. Growing up on a remote island off of Britain’s windswept coast, he was taught by his father to sail and climb at an early age. Inevitably, it wasn’t long before the young explorer was sneaking out to lead all-night climbing expeditions. “
  • No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden by Mark Owen – What guy doesn’t want to read this?

Shooter/Hunter

  • FireClean - $19.44 – Brand new, highly recommended product. Keeps your gun cleaner, longer. I can’t wait to try it myself.
  • Ammo can$10.44 (reg $19.99) – It’s a can to put ammo in. I want one!
  • Snap Caps – (price varies) – Snap caps let you dry-fire (shoot without bullets) your gun ANYWHERE. Great for practicing in the garage without the noise of live ammo! They are available for pistols, rifles and shotguns.
  • UpLULA Magazine Loader$27.34 (reg $36.95) – This is a must-have for anyone that shoots often – it makes loading your magazines about 10 bazillion times easier. Now, that may be a bad thing as he’ll probably want to shoot more ammo… They are available for 9mm – .45, .22LR to .380 ACP, and AR-15s. Not sure which one he might need? Leave a comment and let me know what gun he has and I can tell you.
  • Howard Leight Compact Folding Earmuffs$20.60, Howard Leight Electronic Earmuffs - $49.99 (reg $73.23) – Electronic earmuffs are awesome – they activate only when needed, so you can still talk normally when you have them on and aren’t shooting. For someone like me who tends to yell with earplugs in (or regular earmuffs), these things are amazing.
  • Universal Gun Cleaning Accessory Kit$24.83 (reg $29.95)
  • Rifle Case – (price varies) – If he still takes his rifle to the range in the box it came in, consider getting him a rifle case (works for shotguns too).
  • Stack-On Electronic Safe$34.00 (reg $59.99) – If you have handguns in your house, you’ll want to keep it secured if you ever have children around.

Tech Lover (or nerd)

  • Roku 2 XS$98 – If you’re going to get a Roku, I recommend the highest-end model. If he loves to stream TV and movies (or wants to), I would recommend the Roku. I’ve compared streaming media players in this article. Oh yeah, you may just end up canceling your TV service, and your wallet will thank you.
  • Kindle Fire HD 8.9″$299 – The new tablet in town – specs on par with the iPad, a price that isn’t.
  • Kindle Fire HD 7″$199 – A slight premium over the Kindle Fire, and a price that can’t be beat.
  • Kindle Fire 7″ - $159 – Hands down, the best tablet you will find in this price range. As one reviewer put it – “The Kindle Fire can do 80% of what my iPad can for 50% of the price”. I would correct him – it’s 33% of the price.
  • iPad Retina$499.00 Starting price – The former King of tablets, looks like the 2nd gen Kindle Fires are giving it a run for it’s money.
  • iPod Touch$188.00 (16 GB 4th Gen) – $295.00 (32 GB 5th Gen) – If you have to have music with you everywhere you go, you probably have an iPod. If not, you should get an iPod.

  1. Picked up the tactical flashlight! According to some reviews, the product is mislabeled and it’s actually a 510 lumen, 5-mode light. Either way, I’m excited to give this to my special man :) And I purchased it at $11.14, free shipping! THANK YOU!
