  1. the $150 credit is only for iphones with NO cracks in the back plates. I went to the website to see what I would get for my 3Gs, 32 gb, with no scratches, in perfect working order, and the online valuation tool specifically asks if there is a “1/2 inch long crack in the back plate” which mine has even though it has been kept in an otterbox…. so the value for mine is only $90, not $150

Hmm….wondering if it will still work if I’m not eligible for an upgrade until later this year.. Pretty neat though.

  4. My 3GS got a crack too with an otter box case as well! That’s weird?

  5. That is weird Julie!

ive had 2 iphones now, and they both got a crack in the same place- right where the charger plugs in :(

  7. I have had the same iPhone 4 for going on two years now, since it was new and it has no cracks (almost afraid to say this). SO far so good, but I have gone thru numerousl iFrogs cases that have cracked and now I have a nice case mate case that fits my debit card (holding it securely!). Got the case-mate case recently from a link provided by Frugal Find and I LOVE IT! It isn’t at all bulky and seems VERY sturdy and comfy in my front pocket.

What if you are already in contract? Does it have to be a new contract?

What is the link to check your value? I’m not finding anything on Target.com
    Thanks so much! :-)

I was wondering the same thing- can’t seem to find any details about this online…would love to know if I can get credit for both my old 3G and 3GS…

What is the link to see the specifications? I have a 4 but still in my 2 year contract.

I went and got in on this deal today and asked questions for a couple friends who are interested. The deal is if you are still in a contract they will bill you your contract termination fee. So if you are not done with your 2 year contract they will charge you. They will take all your phones and will give you a target credit on a gift card then you can turn around and use that to buy your new phone. They will also give you an extra 5% off for using your target card.

  12. just did the deal last night… traded in my 3G 8, they gave me $105 (youd get $150 if you had the 16) and just got a regular 4G (you don’t have to get a 4Gs) and paid $45.61 out of pocket…
    thanks Julia!!

I just did the deal tonight. My 3GS had the cracks on the back and I still got 104.00 for it! Woohoo! :) So cool. And the guy said they do this all the time, it doesn’t end today. :) I love my new iPhone 4S! Thanks for posting about this deal!
