I know you’ve all been waiting for the new Concord Grocery Outlet store to open, wait no longer because it IS OFFICIALLY OPEN! Today – 10/9/10 they will be having a big celebration with prizes, jump houses, and so much more. Head on over and “Like” the Concord Grocery Outlet store on Facebook, and show them you love them.
Recently I took a tour of the Grocery Outlet headquarters in Berkeley and visited their main store, I had a blast and asked a few questions that I’m sure you’ve wondered about too…take a look at the video above.
The store will be opening on October 9th and I’d LOVE to meet you all there! I definitely plan to be there to we come them back to Concord. Remember when they were on Clayton Rd where the Dollar Tree is now? I was SAD when it moved. The Pleasant Hill location will NOT be moving so no worries there either. Grocery Outlet is expanding and growing like crazy!
Grand Opening: October 9th Location: 1840 WILLOW PASS ROAD CONCORD, CA 94520 (Where Big 5 used to be) Hours: 8am – 9pm

Since we moved recently I thought I’d show you how we are organizing our toiletries this time around. Now that we have a little more space and a garage (praise the Lord!) we’re keeping our toiletries and household goods separate. By that I mean, our laundry supplies, toilet paper, paper towels etc are all out in the garage. That will be a separate video. Today I’m showing you inside our everyday toiletry closet where we keep shampoo, medicine, razors, toothpaste, etc.
Do you have a stockpile? How do you organize it and keep track of what you have to avoid over-stocking/under-stocking issues? If you have pictures or a video that you’d like to share of your stockpile, send me an email! It can be of your food, toiletries, or make-up – whatever it is that you stockpile to save money – I’m sure The Frugal Find readers would love to see it! So grab your camera, snap a few pics or a short video and send it on over!

New coupons have been loaded to the TFF Coupon Database, including Coupons.com, Smartsource + Redplum! Have you tried the new Coupon Database? I just LOVE it, but it dawned on me that I may need to explain how it works and how/why I use it. Thankfully it’s fairly simple and has saved me TONS of work.
First of all there are 2 ways to access the Coupon Database. One way is by clicking on the text link above The Frugal Find header titled “Coupon Database”. The other is by clicking the logo (pictured above) now permanently located in the right sidebar.
There are a couple of reasons why you’d need to use the database at any given time. One instance would be if you find a sale on something and you haven’t a clue if a coupon exists – enter Coupon Database. The other scenario is if you organize your coupon inserts the way I do then it helps you easily locate which insert/week the coupon is in.
By using the following method of organizing your coupon inserts you are guaranteed to save time. It’s literally as simple as it looks. PLEASE watch this video if you are a clipaholic – you know who you are! Those of you who think “I must clip every coupon, just in case!” You’re living in coupon fear. There is help.
I don’t know which coupons are in which inserts and I don’t care to. I don’t need to. I simply type in a key word in the Coupon Database and it tells me exactly where to find a coupon.
In this example I searched for “Olay”
$0.50/1 Dawn Hand Renewal w/ Olay Beauty, exp. 4-30-10 (P&G 03/07/10)
Now I know there is a $0.50/1 coupon in the P&G (Proctor & Gamble) insert on the week of 3/7. It’s as simple as that, now I go to my Coupon Insert filebox, flip to March 7th’s inserts, grab, clip, and shop! Also if there happens to be a printable coupon for that item, you’ll be able to click and print!
I really hope this helps even just one person – this really shouldn’t be a waste of your time. In fact it should MAXIMIZE your time and money. This whole coupon idea should be a blessing to your family, not a hindrance of any sort.
Have you used the database? Do you like it? How do you organize your coupon inserts? I’d love to hear from you!

We RARELY spend extra money on our outings, but today was an exception. We went to the Alameda County fair with our Groupon tickets (free for my husband and I) and then a very kind lady gave us a ticket that she didn’t need for one of our children. The 2 youngest were free. So we got in for $14 including parking. You have to understand that on our family days we always find events that are free or close to free and even our last trip to the fair cost us a whopping $5.
However, today when my boys saw the Mutton Bust event (basically bull riding for kids 6 years and 60 lbs or less) we just couldn’t say no. We weren’t going to be doing any of the carnival games or rides, so we let them enjoy this one event. I’m sure you’ve realized by now that we didn’t really spend $8,470 for an hour, but we did spend $20 for a total ride time of 8.5 seconds. However I’d venture to say that this was 8 seconds of their lives they’ll not soon forget.
My oldest boy Cody got a bit scared when he first attempted his ride so they took him off, I went back to talk to him and he pulled out two 10 inch sticks guns that he had in his cargo short pockets. He had found them in the parking lot and was saving them to play with later. I can only breath a sigh of relief looking back now as he jumped off the sheep that first time around. Tyler took 4th place, pretty good for a 4 year old!
This is just to remind you that even though we coupon like crazy, it’s ok to live a little. Within reason of course, just make sure you’re enjoying life and not missing out on Mutton Busts because you’re too frugal to have fun.

CVS is having their Cosmetics clearance again. Just look for green of pink stickers on the items, and save up to 75% off! The video above is from the last time CVS had this sale, I definitely didn’t need anymore makeup, but I wanted to make sure you all knew about it! Obviously the coupons I mention in the video aren’t currently available, but there are others out there. Just search the Coupon Database to see if there is a coupon you need!
I hope you enjoy the video, being behind the camera isn’t my favorite place to be but I think it’s a great way for you to see first hand the deals. Plus nothing could be as embarrassing as this video. Personally, I find it hard to sort through lists of deals and coupons, so I always appreciate when I have a video to watch. I hope it’s helpful for you too!
A huge thanks to my 6 year old son Cody for shooting the video – I’ve got a tech guy on my hands already!

It’s been fun learning where we’ll put stuff in our new house, with a garage now we’re pretty excited to be able to spread out a bit more. We had no idea how cramped we were until now!
I have a question for my readers…do you store food in your garage? What are the concerns you have if you do? What precautions should I take? Looking forward to reading through yourcomments!
If you have time, you might want to watch a few other videos that I’ve done in the past including how I got $167 worth of makeup FREE and a REALLY embarrassing one that Mr. Frugal took of me. He caught a quite typical couponer’s moment…he even posted it to the blog himself!
This is an incredible price for this package, a few friend of mine have said the quality of the coffee maker is outstanding as well. Think about it – 2 bags of Starbucks coffee will easily set you back nearly $15 at Target, even more directly from Starbucks.
OR if you just want a deal on Gevalia coffee, you can get 3 Boxes for $3 SHIPPED!
Note that you will be enrolled in their autoship program, but you are under no obligation to accept future shipments. Once your initial 3/$3 order has shipped, you may cancel the autoshipment program by calling 1-800-GEVALIA.

My toiletry pantry/closet was long overdo for a re-organization and weeding out day. It dawned on me today, well first, as it always does…that we are able to give so much more because of couponing! However that’s not what I want to discuss today. The reality for me was that since it had becomeso unorganized I didn’t really know what I had or didn’t have. I was shopping the deals and sticking to my budget, but perhaps I wasn’t spending that money as wisely as I could have been. I explain a bit more in the video above, but basically – just because something is a GOOD deal or even free/close to free doesn’t mean you have to buy it. You could end up like I was with way too much of one thing while my stock in another area was getting low. By saving the money I spent to stockpile on body wash for my husband I could have stocked up on deodorant for myself.
If you haven’t clicked away yet and if you made it through that video, you’re a loyal fan of The Frugal Find and I thank you! Please ignore my morning hair/face/pjs and everything else that doesn’t seem quite normal including my lack of enthusiasm because I really am a happy person but today so far the fact that I have a new coffee pot is the highlight of my day. Don’t get me wrong, life is great – but we’re talking 2 hours of sleep and that’s not so great. When I take the first sip of coffee today things will be brighter! If only I can figure out how to get through the rest of this day, looks like a lot more coffee is in order.
If you remember in my first post about the Gevalia coffee deal, I posted that we needed to replace our current coffee pot (that leaks, is clunky, was bought used, and only 1/2 of it works) just to name a few reasons why! Well yesterday the grand box arrived, I was running out the door so I didn’t get a chance to dive in. When I got home though I saw it in all it’s glory sitting on the kitchen table shiny and new! My dear husband, who hates coffee, has been so gracious this past year to brew me a pot in the mornings and indulge me in a hot cup from Starbucks or Peet’s now and then. He had the pot out and ready to go for me, what a guy! Oh and not only that – he was the mastermind behind ordering this deal and cancelling the membership in time (you can always order more coffee if you love it, but it might be a little too pricey to subscribe to the monthly delivery – you decide).
NOTE: This post will be stuck to the top of the blog today, please scroll down for the latest deals!

Haha it’s ok if you said no…but if you do I have exciting news for you!
Starting next Thursday February 25th at 9PM EST/6PM PST, GauchoTV will be streaming live, each week, every week.
For their first show, Marv & I will be chatting. We”ll discuss ways to save, of course, plus we have prizes to give away ($25 Gift Cards to Target), answer questions, give you the low-down on what websites and savings blogs to follow, and even explain how you, yes you!, can start blogging.
The BEST part is you can LIVE tweet/email in your questions and we’ll try to get them all answered! Did you see the last GauchoCast with Marv & I – here is just a taste of what this Thursday will be like, but live!
I’ve had MANY readers email me and ask “How do I start a blog?” That’s such a HUGE question, but now I have an answer and it couldn’t be a better one! Have you ever come to The Frugal Find and thought – I could do that but I just don’t know how to get started. Well the good news is the starting part has been done for you! Gaucho is giving you your own free blog on GauchoPages. So if you’re not into designing your own blog, but you want to talk savings, Gaucho is the place to do it. Why is Gaucho doing this? Because they love talking about savings (who doesn’t?), they love blogs (so do I!), they love giving you free stuff (me too!!), and they think you’re going to love your GauchoPage. Setup is a snap and the designs are sweet. What are you waiting for?
If you already have a blog, you can import your RSS feed and share your goods with the Gaucho crowd. If you sign up and start a page, let me know and I’ll feature you here on The Frugal Find!
So will you be there this Thursday February 25th at 9PM EST/6PM PST?
