Freebies

Free Glade Soy Candle

by Julia on August 9, 2009
Miscellaneous

I love a freebie!

Score!  I didn’t notice this in the coupon preview this week, so I was pretty excited to see it in the paper today.  Totally FREE candle, no other purchase necessary.

Free coupons are great fillers when you have to reach a certain amount at a store like CVS when you have $5/$25 coupon.  Helps lower your out of pocket.  Plus free coupons are fun!

I love a good smelling house, can’t wait to pick up my candle.

At Lucky Stores the Chinet plates, bowls, cups, etc  are currently on sale for $2.49 and there is a display with a coupon tear pad for a FREE pack of Chinet Lunch Plates with any Chinet purchase.  In the Sunday paper on 5/3 there was a coupon for $2.00 off any Chinet Lunch Plates of $1.00/any Chinet product.  You can also print (2) $1.00/1 coupon HERE.  In addition if you sign up for their newsletter you get even more coupons!

chinet

So this is what the best scenario would look like:  Purchase 1 Chinet Casuals Lunch Plates for $2.49 – $2.00 MC (manufacturers coupon)  and get Chinet Lunch Plates FREE = $0.49 for both!  Or if you use the $1.00/1 printable you pay $1.49 for 2 packs of the Chinet Lunch Plates (44 count).

I was pretty excited to find that thier Hot Coffee ToGo cups were also on sale for $2.49.  This saves me a ton of money, I don’t stop at Starbucks if I can just bring my own cup of coffee from home.  Yes, I realize that I could just buy a re-usable cup, but honestly I am TERRIBLE about remembering to bring them in the house to wash them.  So for me, this works.

peets

How does a free drink of your choice for you and a friend sound?  Make it a coffee date!

Register for Peet’s Coffee & Tea Newsletter and send a free drink to your friends as well. They will thank you for it.  I have to say I have come to really enjoy the taste of Peet’s coffee, now I   am not ready to abandon my love for Starbucks yet, I am just exploring my options.

Oh and a REALLY good coupon finding idea…as I was in Peet’s yesterday before church getting some coffee I saw a bin of discarded newspapers, and yes…coupons.  I was a little   embarrassed to grab them out because several of my church friends were there (hope they aren’t reading) but I can’t stop thinking about the possible savings! I think I will have to go back next Sunday. Anyways this is just a thought, since most people leave the sales ads and coupons behind to be recycled.  Happy hunting!

My TOP PICKS this week:

There are quite a few more great deals at Walgreens this week but these are my 3 favorites.  I’d love to hear what you will be stocking up on this week.  Remember if you don’t need the products there are several food banks and churches in your area that are really hurting during this economy.  Their mission is to help those in need and sadly it’s b coming harder for them to do.  If you can, stock up and donate some of your surplus, I plan to do that as often as I can.

Get 3 7up 12 packs for $3.oo – too good to be true?

They are on sale for 3/$11.oo with a $5.00 RR that prints after purchase.  There are also $1/1 manufacturers coupons  HERE.  So this is what it looks likes.  $11.00 (for 3 12 packs) – $5.00 RR – $3.o0 MC = $3.o0 total.  We don’t     usually drink soda at home but it’s great to have them ready to go to a party or to take to our small groups.  Don’t forget the CRV charges though.

Pert Plus Shampoo – $0.50 a bottle **UPDATED**

The Walgreens ad has them on sale for 2/$5.00 and you will get a $2 RR with the purchase of 2.  Of course I wouldn’t let you buy them without a coupon, so there are coupons in this Sunday’s paper (5/3) or go HERE for a internet printable coupon (IPC).  The coupons are good for $1/1.  Ok – $5.00 (for 2 bottles) – $2.00 RR – $2.00 MC = $1.o0!!

*** I didn’t notice but in the same Sunday paper there was a coupon for $1.50 off any Men’s Pert Plus, so that makes them FREE! I stocked up last night for my husband, since it’s more common to find my shampoo/conditioner for free.

Magic Erasers for $0.75 a box or $1.25 – PICK your DEAL!

They are on sale 2/$5.00, if you spend $25.00 on qualifying products (this is one of them) you get a $5.00 RR.  There is a BOGO (buy one get one free) coupon in this Sunday’s paper.    There are 2 ways you can work this deal, just   depends on how many magic erasers you want to stock up on.   These VERY rarely go on sale so either of these deals are a must!

****Note I have changed the scenarios a bit down below because they weren’t exactly as I thought they were, it actually worked out a bit better last night.

  1.  Buy 10 boxes for $25.00, use 5 BOGO coupons (which takes $12.50 off your cost) and get a $6.00 RR = 10 boxes for $6.70 or $0.67 each box.
  2. Buy 2 boxes for $5.00 use 1 BOGO coupon and get $2.50 off = 2 boxes for $2.50.
  3. 4 boxes for $10.00 use 2 BOGO coupons and get $5.00 off and $2.00 RR = 4 boxes for $3.00

Colgate Sensitve Toothpaste – FREE plus $1.00 profit

They are on sale this week for $4.49 and you get a RR for $4.50.  Of course you will need a coupon :)  HERE you go!       As you can see, this is a great deal.  Buy one tube of Colgate Sensitive for $4.49 – $1.00 MC = $3.49 plus $4.50 RR =     $1.00 Money Maker!

Food Maxx – Free Milk

by Julia on May 3, 2009
Miscellaneous

I am not sure if this is offered at all Food Maxx stores, but in my local Food Maxx last night we found a coupon hanging above the cereal display (near the produce) not the actualy cereal aisle.  The coupon is for a FREE Gallon of milk with the purchase of any 3 participating cereals.  The cereals are all ones that $1/1  coupons were issued for HERE.  They are also the Family Size boxes, 21oz+ for $2.88 before coupons.

So this is how it worked for us 3 boxes X $2.88 = $8.64 – $3.00 = $5.64 + FREE GALLON of MILK

I didn’t have a coupon for this purchase, but the Quaker Instant Oatmeal boxes were on sale for $2.28 and there are $4.00 worth of coupons inside each box!  Maybe there is a printable coupon somewhere online for these too, post back here if you know of one.

Happy shopping :)

barnes-noble-logo-high

This is going to be a fun summer project for my kiddos with a pretty cool prize at the end.   Below are the details from Barnes & Noble about the Summer Reading Program.

Here’s How It Works:

1. Kids read any eight (8) books of their own choosing.

2. Kids use the Summer Reading Journal to tell us their favorite part of each book. A parent/guardian signs the journal when it’s complete.

3. Children bring their completed Reading Journal to a Barnes & Noble store between May 26th & September 7th, 2009.

4. We’ll give them a coupon for a FREE book! They choose from a list of exceptional paperback titles.*

Walgreens FREE Deals!

by Julia on March 31, 2009
Miscellaneous

So I am just beginning to learn about how Walgreens FREE rebates work, but so far, it seems VERY worthwhile.  Each week in their ad, they will have a few things that are absolutely FREE after Rebate.  Free?  Yes, free.  You can send in your rebates online or in the mail, but you can only do the rebate process once a month per family, that doesn’t mean you can only participate in one free rebate per month, it simply means they are trying to save themselves some work and want you tocombine all your rebates on one form.   The form is provided for you HERE.  It gets even better…if you choose to have your rebates paid to you in the form of a Walgreens Gift Card, you will earn an additional 10%, so they are paying you!

So this weeks FREE deals that I am going to take advantage of are:

  1. Purchase $10 in Physicians Formula ORGANIC Makeup and get a $10 Rebate.
  2. Purchase Ink (Black or Color Cartridge – 100′s of brands) for $7.50 get a $7.50 Rebate
  3. Purchase Wall-Itin (Walgreen’s Allergy Medicine 30 Count) on sale for $6.99 get a $6.99 Rebate
Take advantage of these FREE offers, what have you got to lose?

Free is even better when the item or.com/modity is of a high value. While I love a free deal no matter what, when it gets into the $10′s and $20′s I get pretty excited.  So how does $64.85 translate into free for my family?  Well just like this…Wachovia Wednesdays at the California Academy of Sciences!  Every 3rd Wednesday you can get in FREE!

Come experience the new Academy — from the rainforest to the aquarium to the planetarium to so much more.

Pack a picnic lunch and get away for the day!  You can’t beat free…well I guess you could if they paid you to go!

Miscellaneous

So if you haven’t tried redbox yet, I would highly suggest it. You can rent from a very large selection of movies, including new releases. It is very simple, $1 per day plus tax. You must return it before 9pm the following day or you are charged another $1. No late fees, at some point…I can’t remember what dollar amount, you then own the movie. Not something I would suggest! You can return the movie to ANY redbox location. There are frequently FREE rental codes if you sign up for email updates from redbox. Well it just so happens I have one to share! This is open to anyone, this code is good for today only (3/18) and will expire at midnight tonight. They are doing a Wednesday March Madness event with a free movie code every Wednesday, enjoy a midweek movie break!
