Self Check or Checker?

by Julia on February 16, 2010
Bay Area DealsSafeway

Leslie started a great discussion topic over in The Frugal Find Community Forum.  Here is the start of her question…

“Do y’all use self-check with coupons or do you prefer a live checker? Experiences? Comments?”

I’m very curious what you guys have to say about this, we JUST got a self-check station at my local Safeway.  I had the same experience Leslie had…you can read more about it in the forums.

While you’re there feel free to start a new discussion or join in on one that’s already started.  Ssshh…don’t tell anyone…but there will be a fun giveaway going on exclusively for forum members soon!

I got an email from Free Snatcher with the following details:

Tomorrow December 21 be sure to check the International Delights Creamer Facebook Fan page at 11 am EST as they have a special holiday treat.  They recently gave away a free bottle of creamer so this leads me to believe they might be doing it again.  The last time it was only for the first 25,000 who signed up.

I’m SO SO SO excited that I had a few minutes today to catch up my blog reading because I found this HOT deal from Rachel at Surviving the Stores!  Have you heard of Recyclebank.com?  Unfortunately, the actual program isn’t available in my area, but there are still portions that we can take advantage of!

UPDATE: The Huggies coupons are now sold out, but there are LOTS of other great coupons that you can get as well.

Here are the details from their website:

That’s it! Then you can earn more rewards if you would like to get more coupons!

You can also earn rewards by giving away your stuff through Kashless (similar to Freecycle) and by recycling your Electronics through Gazelle or Flipswap.  Alyssa at Kingdom First Mom wrote a great explanation of Gazelle HERE.  You will need to click on the Kashless or Electronics Recycling links from the RecycleBank website (under “Earn Points“) to get the points credited to your account for Kashless or Gazelle.

Along with the Entertainment Book and the Sunday Newspaper (SF Chronicle delivered for $1.00), comes the All You Magazine.   My top 3 must-haves!  A magazine subscription?  Frugal? YES when it’s packed full of coupons!  The All You magazine at the newstand price will run you $2.24 an issue or $26.88/yr. but with this deal you are paying $0.75 – $1.17 an issue!  Be warned though…they are s.l.o.w. to start new subscriptions, I have no idea why.

  • Register or log in to Shop At Home, (New members get an additional $5.00!)
  • Search for Magazines.com and click through to receive 30% cash back.
  • Search for ALL YOU on Magazines.com and place your order.
  • Your rebates will be credited to your Shop At Home account.

A one-year ALL YOU magazine subscription will be just $13.98 after the Shop At Home cash back. Plus new Shop At Home members will receive an additional $5 bonus for making a first-time purchase through them, making your total price for the magazine only $8.98 for a one-year subscription!

You can see the full list of the coupons in this months magazine HERE.
