And now for the sweet story that goes with the five dollar picture up above…

This morning my daughter brought me a wrapped up gift, a going away gift.  I unraveled it to find a $5 dollar bill and an empty Starbucks Card.  She blessed me with a “hot cup of coffee” but said I should first load the $5 on my card so I can earn Starbucks Rewards points – she is truly MY daughter and gift from the Lord.

We’re home and I couldn’t be happier.  There is no place like home, even when you’re staying in a top notch hotel with the best of the best food, a maid, and waterfalls – my cluttered little abode is where I want to be.  As I had some time to reflect while traveling I realized a few things about myself.

1.  I’m u comfortable in large crowds, especially when I know very few people.  Even with the common thread of us all being “bloggers” it wasn’t common enough.  It brings me back to those incredibly awkward junior high years.  However, this seems to really contradict my other passion – public speaking.  I’m not exactly sure how to make any sense of that.  Does this mean I’m only comfortable when I’m in control?  Boy am I that much of a control freak?!  If we met and I seemed, umm…snobby or busy, the truth is I was probably incredibly u comfortable!

2.  I’m incredibly passionate about helping people live frugal lives.  Not only when it comes to using coupons and grocery shopping but life in general.  In every area of life there is a way to save money or to get the most value for the dollar you’re spending.  It is possible to live a cash only life style and to live better than you’re living now!  It’s not always about spending money either, sometimes it’s about being thankful for what you altready have and finding the value in and treasuring those items.

3.  I have a story and I want to share it.  I’ve always known at some point in my life the time would come where I’d be able to share my story, that time is now.  Soon I’ll be sharing bits and pieces here on The Frugal Find, it’s a story of how and why I am who I am today.  The good, the bad, and the ugly – but mostly it’s about the redeeming grace of a Savior who has carried me through life when I couldn’t walk on my own two feet.

I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

I just wanted to give you a few blogs to click around through today.  These are AMAZING and talented women.  The best part of being at Blissdom has been being able to meet women who do what I do and who juggle the same daily tasks.  We get each other, and hopefully you’ll find a way to connect with these women too.

I’m very excited to bring you the following Frugal/Money Saving Bloggers – I’ve met these women this weekend and will be working with them even more in the future!

Claire blogs over at Saving Money Plan and is a LOCAL Bay Area blogger, who knew?!

Kaley blogs over at Cha Ching on a Shoe String, we’ve worked together in the past and it was so nice to put a face with her blog.

Alyssa blogs over at Kingdom First Mom, she is the sweetest lady I’ve ever met.  Her sweet little baby feel asleep in my arms last night at the Savvy Blogging dinner.

Last night on my way over to dinner, as I sat on the bus a bit insecure thinking I was under-dressed and just wishing I had something “nice” to wear – Jennifer from Balancing Beauty and Bedlam sat next to me and we began to chat.  She shared a bit about her site (which I LOVE) and she told me about her Frugal Fashionista feature which is all about thrift store fashion finds and immediately I was relaxed.  I was so excited to share with her was that my entire outfit was from a thrift store!  She loved it and made me feel completely comfortable.  Thank you Jennifer!

I was very much looking forward to 2010 but as I sit here working on my google calendar, I realized I’m not ready for January!  It’s going to be a PACKED month and I have no clue how I’m going to do it all.  Not to mention my husband has enrolled in an intensive 3 week course (4) 10 hour days while also working PT.  I have several coupon classes and private speaking engagements this month.  We’re back in school with the kiddos starting Monday.  I’ve got a lot of work to do at church and Blissdom is just around the corner! Oh and I’m cooking dinner every single day this month.  I’ve lost it haven’t I?

Well at least Blissdom is at the end of month  – what a great reward that will be! A trip with my hubby to Nashville, TN to attend a blogging conference.  We’ll be staying at the  Opryland Hotel and Resort and I have the opportunity to meet some amazing women at an intimate roundtable discussion over dinner thanks to SavvyBlogging (I’ll be fortunate to meet these women for the first time – Tara @ Deal Seeking Mom, Crystal @ Money Saving Mom, Melissa @ Saving Cents with Sense, Marcy @ Stretching a Buck and so many more!  Somehow I’ll need to figure out how to stretch the days and be proactive rather than reactive this month.  I’ve got to be on top of my game this month for sure.

I have to say those, that this incredible end of the month trip would not have been possible if it weren’t for my partnership with Gaucho.net - so a HUGE thank you goes to them.  I can’t wait to bring back what I’ve learned to help you…

Save EVEN more, Give EVEN more, and Live EVEN more in 2010.

But still…I WANT DECEMBER BACK!

I have very exciting news!

I’m going to Blissdom 2010!!

I recently attended an event back in October called Save Up 2009 sponsored by Savings.com.  I was delighted to be chosen as a Deal Pro with Savings.com!  It was a gathering of like-minded frugal savvy bloggers.  We learned alot about social media, how to find and bring to our readers the best deals daily, we also laughed a lot as we all shared our couponing experiences.  It was a great event, but it only spurred me on to want to learn more and reach even more people with the savings tips I have here on The Frugal Find.

Thats when I heard about Blissdom 2010 and I knew I had to go.  It had nothing to do with the fact that it would be held in Nashville, TN at the Grand Ole Opry Hotel, nothing at all. :)   I knew I had to go.  It will be a gathering of 500 top bloggers from across the nation, sharing tips with each other, learning and growing.   I want to bring you the best of the best, so to do that, I have to learn from the best of the best.  The line of speakers and conference attendees is mind boggling.   I think I’ll be star-struck.  The cost of the event wasn’t something we could afford, remember the step in faith we took and then the resignation letter turned in?  Well, we’re still stepping and still waiting and still trying to have faith.  Themiracle of it all is that 5 months later having been without 75% of our income for the majority of the time, we’ve never been late on a bill and we’ve never been without anything we’ve needed.   In the past 5 months my blog has grown with leaps and bounds, I am so incredibly thankful to all of you, my readers, for being loyal and for faithfully returning day after day to The Frugal Find.

So in my desire to go to Blissdom I wrote up a Sponsorship request and began to contact companies that I knew I could wholeheartedly endorse.  Then the day came when I accepted a FULL sponsorship offer, it was actually my birthday too!

So very proudly I announce to you that I will be attending Blissdom 2010 thanks to Gaucho.net!

I’ll be sharing more with you in the very near future about Gaucho and everything the community has to offer, but for now here is a brief introduction to Gaucho…

savings_250x250

About Gaucho:

Gaucho is a savings inspired community and price comparison site. Our goal is to make it refreshingly easy for you to find the best deal on the web or at a store near you.

Behind the scenes, we’re just a bunch of real people striving to deliver real savings in a real-time environment.

Why Gaucho?

We have an amazing price comparison search engine, web apps, coupons, maps, a cool.com/munity, and more — that’s our Savings Search Advantage.  We’re a savings inspired.com/munity. We find and share coupons from all over.  Gaucho brings the savings home. Search GauchoStamps to find local deals and use GauchoMaps to find out where those stores are at.

There will be more to.com/e, I am very excited about this partnership.  Gaucho has so much to offer the savings community and I know we’ll benefit enormously here at The Frugal Find!
