We wrote about a FREE $2 Target giftcard from Shopkick the other day, and I saw a few of you comment that you couldn’t use it in the store. Turns out you were correct – the giftcards are valid online only. I just received an e-mail from Shopkick this morning apologizing, and they put 600 kicks in my account, not bad! Along with that, there is a link where you can go to get your gift card balance.
I believe what we are getting is Target eGiftcards, which CAN be converted into Target Mobile Giftcards and then used in the store. Here’s what it says on the Giftcard Help page:
Target eGiftCard™:
Just choose an amount, include a message and your Target eGiftCard will be emailed to the recipient usually within 4 hours. Until converted to a Target Mobile Gift Card, Target eGiftCards may only be used at Target.com.
I don’t see anything else about online only anywhere, so you should be able to use these in store after a little bit of work.

I got a text about this offer the other day! I deleted it because it looked like a scam!!

So strange. I just got back from Target and was able to use mine with no problems. I didn’t convert it or anything, just showed the cashier my phone, he scanned it and it took off the $2. Hope others have the same luck I did!

So you recommend Shopkick? I’m thinking about adding, but I missed the bonus sign on code – boo.

Still not impressed, since it clearly states to have the cashier scan it at checkout. I sent them an email but have not received a response yet.

Mine worked in the store. I use the app on and off- its frustrating when walk-ins dont work. That being said- I go to Target a couple times a month- so why not get “paid” for where I am already going.
