Julia, I’m confused. You’re allowed to use 3 coupons for 2 items (nut clusters)?

Julia February 3, 2010 at 5:01 pm

Yes, because one is an eCoupon and comes off automatically at checkout.

the safeway coupon policy says that they dont accept any coupons for more than 50% off a products value or any coupons for “free products” but you did both in this transaction and i know i have done it before there too….are they just not paying attention?

The 50% policy applies to the “value” of the item, not the sale price. Also the free coupon policy applies to IPC (internet printable coupons) for free products, only one of which I had – but it was mailed directly to me from the manufacturer. But yes, in most cases they don’t pay great attention. I hope that helps! :)

Chocolate Cheerios for $.25! These were part of the buy 4, get them for $1.50 each sale, and with an IP I printed recently for $1.25/1 they were only a quarter!

Did anybody else swear they had the guacamole coupon and they couldn’t find it?? Yeah, I spent the last 20 minutes looking page for page for it… to find that it is in the SMART SOURCE … not the Red Plum. Glad I found it! Off to the store I go!

My Safeway wouldn’t accept the free Oreo coupon. When they swiped it, there was the rejection buzz. They tried to manually override it and failed. The manager said that store policy was that they do not accept any “free” product coupons. BOBO is okay, but not plain ole free b/c they are worried they won’t be reimbursed.

I’m going to try to get my cookies at another Safeway, but I’m not too hopeful. :(

The 50% thing, AARRR! I have had even regular Sunday Insert coupons handed back to me with the “we can’t take it because it is more then 50% yada yada yada”. I wish our Safeways were as friendly as yours!
