I’ve started weighing produce like you did the strawberries, mainly bags of apples and potatoes. It is crazy how big of a difference there can be. I have no shame in getting more food for the same price!

I’ve been very surprised at the differences – usually I can get about a pound more for free!

I bought a small tub of shedd’s spread for $1.99 and got a $1.50 catalina for my next trip. Wasn’t expecting that.

The tip on weighing the strawberries is actually an amazing tip! I would never have thought to do that and would have just assumed that the grocer had already precisely weighed it. Thanks!

Yup, I weigh produce too. I do it especially with avocados.

How could you use a double if all your coupons were above .50 cents?
Mr Frugal June 30, 2012 at 1:01 pm
If the coupon is over $0.50, they give you another $0.50 off with the doubler. If it’s below $0.50, then they double the value.
