I am really excited today. In just a few short hours our house is going to be packed full of moms and kids. This might strike fear in many of you including myself at times, but today is different. You see over the course of 2 hours we’ll be sharing recipes and cooking together! We’ll be bulk cooking 2 meals, enough to feed up to 10 families for 2 nights. We’re starting small with just 2 meals to test the waters and our patience as we’ll have kids underfoot, but I have a good feeling it’s going to go very well.
Are you interested in learning more about how our day goes? Are you interested in putting together a group like this of your own?

Yes! I have been bulk cooking and freezing meals for a few weeks now. I actually mentioned forming a group to some friends last night and they seemed interested.

Great idea Kim, let us know if you get one together! There are so many different ways of going about it, any of which are awesome!

I would be very interested! My sister and I were just discussing a few weeks ago that there is a lack in today’s society of a sense of community. The way we grew up families came together to cook, can, freeze and help out in any way possible.

So very interested! Did a meal planning night with friends and this seems like the next logical step and one with a plan in place would make everyone’s life easier!

I did freezer cooking before the birth of my first two children and hope to have the energy to whip some up before this next baby. The meals also make nice gifts for a family with a new baby (especially if you live close enough to visit, but not close enough to bring a hot meal).
I look forward to more posts with recipes and would love an emphasis on healthy and/or whole foods without preservatives. Thanks again for helping us keep our families healthy on a budget.

I would love to see (did anyone take pics) and hear how it went…how you think you did…how much it cost…and what you made. ~Hope it went well.
