Hi Julia – I am new to couponing, and have been following your blog every day. I have learned so much in the past few weeks and have also made a few mistakes along the way. I just wanted to share with you & your readers my awesome shopping trip to Target today!! If you would like to post this to your blog, feel free. I didn’t know how to do that. Here’s what I bought:
.
16 boxes of Kellogg’s cereal at $2.66 each (they had TONS on the shelves, I did not clean them out and I plan to donate lots of it)
* Used 10 $1/1 Fruit Loops blinkies that I had gotten at Safeway recently
* Two $1/1 Corn Flakes coupons printed online today
* Two $1/2 any Kellogg’s cereal blinkie type coupons
* 16 Target coupons $1/1 off Kelloggs cereal (they accepted all 16)
.
4 boxes of Kellogg’s Fiber Bars, on sale for $2.33 each, with $5 gift card promo
* Used four .75 cent coupons — (Received $5 gift card!!)
.
3 Healthy Choice frozen entrees (on sale $1.75 each) + 1 can of Healthy Choice Soup
* Used two $2/1 HC coupons from their website + the free soup coupon from the 10/18 SS.
.
3 Glade Tins + 3 Refills
* Used three $1.50 Glade Tins coupons + three Free Refill coupons (Received $5 gift card!!)
My total bill was $10.17 plus I received $10 back in Target gift cards — so all in all, I got all this for 17 cents!!
Thanks so much for all the work you do in putting this web page together. I know it helps alot of people!

What a great deal! What Target store was it? I bought four boxes of cereal, they took all my manufacturer coupons, but would only let me use three Target coupons- the coupon beeped screen said “coupon cannot be used for free item” and since I got the fourth box free. That’s great all of yours went through!

I went to the Walnut Creek Target. Seems like every time I go there, the Target store coupons don’t scan well. So the clerk forced them through. It did get a little confusing, but he pressed K1 at times to override, and other times he used one of my other $1 coupons and scanned it over and over (in lieu of the Target coupon), counting the number of times to make sure it was correct. I did check my receipt carefully later, and it came out correct.

Where do you find the blinkies? Going to check Safeway…. are they by the cereal?

They were mostly the $1/1 Fruit Loops/Apple Jacks blinkies that were available in the cereal aisle for the past few weeks. Kmart had them too. Not sure if they are still there. I had stocked up on them waiting for a great sale to come along. I’m always on the lookout for blinkies (learned from this website) especially in the cereal aisle.

No cereal blinkies at Willow Pass Safeway :( Going to check Kmart this afternoon.

Has anyone found the $1/1 Froot Loops blinkies in the Concord area?

Pardon me for asking, but what is a blinkie? Also, you can use manufacture and target coupons simultaneously? Sometimes I look at the back of target coupons and it says only one coupon per item or something like that?

Blinkies are coupons provided by the aptly named coupon-dispensing machine which grabs your attention in an aisle by way of a flashing (blinking) red light (led lamp) usually near the product itself.

Blinkies have become generic (much like Kleenex means tissues in a box) and can also refer to any coupon freely available in an aisle, even if there is no blinking display (example: a generic “take-one” display).
