Go HERE to see the latest updates to the Oroweat Outlet’s weekly deals.
I was very sad to find that my local Hostess Bakery closed in a matter of a week! I was often able to get Nature’s Pride whole wheat bread there for $1.00 a loaf! So when I posted about my loss here on The Frugal Find, many readers came to my rescue! Many of you told me about the Oroweat Outlet, funny thing is it’s literally 2 minutes from my house! One freeway exit closer than the Hostess Bakery and I LOVE IT SO MUCH MORE!
I walked in and told the lady that I was new to shopping there and asked her if she could give me the run down on how everything worked, the sale days, punch cards, etc. I feel like I’ve been missing out big time!
Here are the details:
Black Line items – These are discounted items based on their sell by date, anywhere from $0.99 – $1.99 each and include a huge variety of breads, english muffins, bagels, etc. There are overstock from Safeway, Costco, and possibly elsewhere. They are nearing their expiration (freeze by) dates. However the ones I purchased had a good 5 days left.
Punch Card – For every $$ you spend, they initial your card and once you’ve spent $30 you get to pick 2 items from for free from the Black Line section.
Wednesdays are Double Punch Days – So if you’ve spent $10 you get stamped for $20, pretty simple.
Sundays are Discount Days - The Black Line breads are $0.50 cheaper, so $1.49 instead of $1.99
If you spend $7 or more you get to pick 1 item free (from the manager’s special rack – great items!)
If you spend $10 or more you get to pick 2 items free.
All in all, yesterday – Saturday, (should have waited 1 day!) I got 8 items for $10, not bad! I would suggest shopping on Sundays to maximize your savings, had I waited the extra day I would have been able to get at least 1 more item and still only spend $10. Plus with my punch card stamps, I am 1/3 of my way to 2 more free items! All in all, I give this outlet a HUGE 100% and I highly recommend that you take a trip to see the savings for yourself.

Where is this exactly? Is it in the shopping center right by the on ramp to 242?
I just found one nearby!! I’m stoked!! I use to go to a Hostess outlet when I was in Bible College, but now I need real bread now for my family, so I’m thrilled with the oroweat outlet!
I’m curious where this is too!
Can you list the location?
Just updated with the phone number and address!
While you’re there, be sure to ask for their calendar, which has 2 coupons for each month – 1 BOGO for varying products and 1 free bread or cake (coupons are limited to 1 coupon per customer per day, so you can’t use both at the same time).
Thanks for sharing this. I have driven by a few times and was curious how great the deals are!
Wow- I’m JEALOUS! Orowheat is hands-down my fave bread ever. Its just so darn expensive! I emailed them a great compliment and they mailed me 2 $1 off coupons for orowheat products.
We found this store last week as well. The manager was very knowledable and there is a good selection of products. We miss some of the items from the Hostess store, but we were very happy with the prices and the punch card. We are definitely going to frequent this store.
Thanks so much for the insite on the store! I too was going to the Hostess outlet every once in awhile and was sad it was gone. My husband didn’t like the Hostess store too well as he wasn’t impressed with the freshness of their products.
I dragged him to the Oroweat outlet today and we were both impressed. Plenty of fresh items and at great prices. Having Entemanns products in addition to the Oroweat products was a good plus to my junk food eating husband.
All in all a great experience.
Just a note. I spent $20 assuming that i’d get (2) items for every $10 spent, but alas I only got two free items total. Still a good deal, but I should’ve bought the $10 got the two free items and then come back later and spent the next $10.
thanks again FrugalFind!!!
That is so awesome!!! I wonder if the one in SF has the same coupon! I’ll go check it out!
Their discount days and specials are now gone. If you are over 60, you get a 10% discount, and 20% on Fridays. Their prices are still the best, and their bread and pastries are still excellent, and fresh!
FYI -
Julia,
I went yesterday to try to get the double punch but they said they no longer do double punch on Wednesdays, only on Sundays and no more discount on Sunday.
Yes Laura, I posted an update on June 6th, thank you for the reminder to link to it in this post.

I like this store, since my other outlet store (Wonder Bread) closed. As of this date, the store’s cash register does not take debit cards, since I don’t carry cash on me, it’s a little inconvenient, but still worth it to go, especially on Sundays for even more bargains.
Thank you!!! I have been going to the wonder out let in my area. But its good to know there is something out in concord when I am there. Thanks!!!!
