Introducing…Passbox!

by Julia on May 27, 2010
Bay Area Deals

Several months ago I met with Peter from Passbox, he shared with me his vision for our local businesses and for you the consumer to be connected by the thread of a good deal.  He saw the need our businesses have in this economy for new customers and he saw the need we have for a good deal.   The reality is we now expect to get a discount on almost every purchase that is made, from groceries to the mechanic.

His passion was infectious and I am thrilled to announce their launch!  The BIG Day is Wednesday, June 2nd and they’re starting if off with a BANG!  I can’t share the deal yet, but it’s one you won’t want to miss.  Don’t worry I will remind you and share the deal here on The Frugal Find!

What is Passbox?

Passbox is an East Bay origin website that connects consumers in the East Bay with local businesses they like.

Our newest  “Deal of the Day” program gives people a 48 hour “opportunity window” to buy a heavily discounted deal (up to 80% OFF) from a local business on the Passbox network.  If you like the deal, buy it and print a deal voucher right from our site.

Each member of the Passbox team lives right here in the East Bay.  We are committed to helping local businesses and consumers connect, while giving back to schools in our.com/munity.

Passbox Gives Back!

Businesses who offer a deal on Passbox allocate 5% of their deal to a local school of the deal buyers choice. We think it’s important to support local schools and the businesses who invest them. The 5% Give Back to Schools program encourages investment into both. If you buy a deal and don’t want to choose a school, your 5% will be allocated to a general education fund that will support the most economically challenged schools in our.com/munity.

Follow Passbox.

Passbox.com – Launches with NEW deals and Content on Wednesday, June 2nd.

I was not paid in anyway for this post – it’s truly something that I believe in and believe it could transform the economy here in the East Bay, both for the merchant and the consumer while also giving back to your local schools!  How could I not support that?!

A question for you… local or not, what kind of businesses would you like to get a discount at?  Your input could literally becomeone of the next Passbox Deal of the Day!

Can’t wait to see this! I hope we can choose schools in the Mt Diablo Unified School District. Then I’d be VERY interested. (I’m sure the 500+ moms in my local mom’s club would be, too!) My kids are 8 & (almost) 12 so I’m not looking for little kid activity places. This seems similar to the Savvy Source deals that come by about once a week.

I’d love to see deals at:
Coco Swirl
Pasta Pomodoro
Skipolinis
Roccos
Mimis
The Jungle
Local Move Theaters
Marine World
Great America
Antioch Water Park
Waterworld
Bowling

Hope that helps!
