UPDATE: It’s official – the Dollar Tree will start accepting coupons this Sunday 8/26, you can see the Dollar Tree Coupon Policy online here.  Are you excited about this?  I sure am!  I’ve compiled a few deals here, stay tuned for even more!

In a VERY interesting turn of events it appears that the Dollar Tree will now be accepting manufacturer’s coupons, yes you heard me right!  I almost couldn’t belive it, but it’s true here are the details:

And the OFFICIAL Coupon Acceptance Policy is THIS:

  • Manufacturer coupons ONLY, no retailer specific coupons; example Target, Wal-Mart, etc.
  • No photo copy of coupons.
  • Limit 2 Internet coupons per transaction.
  • Do not accept coupons for “FREE” product or coupons where the amount for the product is blank.
  • Coupons must be presented at time of purchase and can not be redeemed for cash at a later time.
  • We will accept coupons subject to their terms only; such as expiration date, size and limitations.
  • Coupon will not be accepted without the purchase of the item specified on the coupon.
  • Coupons cannot be redeemed for more than the purchase of the item specified on the coupon.
  • Only 1 Manufacturer coupon will be accepted per product in transaction.
  • Coupon must be intact, not altered or modified in any way.
  • Coupons are for in store purchases only.

So it looks like this new policy will go into effect on Sunday 8/26 – if you happen to stop into your local store ask your cashier if they know about it or if you see any signs.  This is just so exciting!  I can only begin to imagine the freebies, I’m sure there will be many!

Thanks for the heads up and photo Dollar Store Deals and Hip2Save!

  1. Does the 2 coupons per transaction mean that if you want to use more you’d have to go through the line again and use 2 more coupons?

Call me blind, or something, but I haven’t really seen very many brand name products at Dollar Tree. I live in Northern California. Have you? I know there are tons of brand name products at the 99c only stores, so let’s hope they follow along real soon as well.

    • I was jsut telling my friend today that I never see many brand names at Dollar Tree either. And also mentioned 99 cents stores have alot but alas..we don’t have any of those by us.

  3. cool!

I’m in NoCal and in a small town. We are so excited to hear this news. And yes, I see name brand items in ours all the time. Candy bars, canned goods and baking items are the first things to come to mind.

  5. Two decent deals according to my trip today:

    Nabisco Paws (8 1ct packages) $1 (retail around $4!) – $1/2 Nabisco (I think on Smartsource) = $.50 each

Libby’s Canned vegetables: On the first of the month Coupons.com often posts $1/4 Libby’s canned vegetables (the coupon usually only lasts a day so print when you find it). Libby’s is $.79 each at my NorCal store. Total per can is $.54

My Dollar tree often carries odd sizes of name brand products (for example, 3 oz sizes of chips). Yet, they are not individual size products so they might be very inexpensive with coupons. Hmmm. This is very intriguing. :)

    Thanks for letting us know.

  6. I checked out our Dollar Tree today, sure enough they said that they would start accepting coupons this coming Sunday. Yeah.

  7. Brand names are hit or miss at the Dollar Tree but you do have to really look. I do see alot of the personal hygiene products in name brand so if you are in of those items, I’d start there first. I’m excited. Daughter is off to college soon and even a few of the items from the Dollar Tree at a reduced price will help. Makes me wonder though if this is a means to encourage more shoppers at their stores. I’ve never seen a shortage of customers at my local Dollar Tree stores though ;)
