HOT Deal Alert! 1 Year Oakland Zoo Family Membership ONLY $40

by Julia on March 10, 2010 · 18 comments

Have you been looking for an affordable family acitivity?  I’d highly suggest getting a zoo membership, we’ve been members of the Oakland Zoo for at least 6 years now and love it!

You’ll need to HURRY! This deal ends at 12 midnight on 3/12/10.

Right now you can get a 1 Year Oakland Zoo Membership for ONLY $40!!  This includes 2 adults and up to 4 kids.  What a great gift this would make too!  This is a 53% savings, the regular price is $85 and the only discount I have ever seen was once they called us after our membership had expired and offered us an additional 6 months at the $85 rate – that was good but this is great! I’ve NEVER gotten a deal like this before!

If you’re ready to order, go here and let the fun begin!

You Zoo Membership doesn’t end there, check out everything that is included:

  1. Free admission, 363 days of the year, at the Oakland Zoo for the two named, cardholding adults (ages 18 and up) and any four children (ages 2-17)
  2. Free parking at The Oakland Zoo for one vehicle
  3. Free guest pass (for one-time use) for 2 adults and 2 children at The Oakland Zoo
  4. Eight free coupons for rides
  5. Free admission to our Members’ Nite event and subscription to Roar! the Zoo’s newsletter
  6. Discounts at the gift shop, for Zoo Camp, birthday parties, for Walk in the Wild, ZooLights, and other special events as well as to 125 zoos and aquariums nationwide

Thanks Susan for passing this info on to me!

UPDATE:  It looks like you’ll get a coupon/form to print out and take with you on your next trip to the zoo.  You will need that to redeem your membership.  This form/coupon expires on 9/30/10.  If you are unable to go in person, you can visit the following link to sign up for membership.   Thanks Whitney!

What an awesome deal! Thanks! I had been thinking about joining anyway and was trying to decide if $85 was really worth it with our daughter still being free this summer. This sealed the deal :)

Does this include other museums? I had the one through Lindsey wildlife museum a few years ago, and it was great to have all the options of other places to go. Either way this is an awesome deal! Thanks

I signed up for it thinking I was paying for the membership right then, only to find out it was not. Instead it was a coupon I paid for that I have to print out and physically take to the Oakland Zoo in order to get my membership. That’s a bummer! Seeing as I work full time! Does that mean that this expires by Friday and if I don’t get to Oakland by Friday to redeem this “coupon” that I just wasted $40? Please advise a.s.a.p.

The Oakland Zoo membership gets you 50 percent off Lindsay and SF zoo, plus some other Northern CA sites. They are all listed on their website. Lindsay used to be free but changed last year

Jen – my coupon says that it must be redeemed by 9/30/10. What does yours say?

Mine says to just bring it in by 9/30/10 as well. It doesn’t expire until then and you just have to bring it to the zoo to get your actual membership.

Thank you for the follow up. Yes my coupon says “must be redeemed by 09/30/10″ as well. (Whew!) If anyone redeems their’s soon, do tell how it went. I’m curious to see how the Zoo reacts to these coupons once presented to them. I’ve never done this before.

Please note that the coupon says that this offer is not allowed for current Oakland Zoo members. I ordered a membership through this offer, but now I must try to cancel the order and get my money back because I’m already a Zoo member. Bummer!

Bummer, I’ve been busy and missed the deal (it’s sold out now!). Glenn, if you haven’t already canceled the order, I’d be happy to give you $40 for the coupon! Let me know!
