Frugal Find reader gets PAID to shop at Safeway!

Remember this post deal scenario?  I highly doubt there are any coupons left out there, but this question has always been in the back of my mind…will Safeway (or any store for that matter) actually pay you out in cash if you have overage?  Well for one Frugal Find reader this week, the answer is YES!

This is the deal she worked, she did it twice and got $0.50 back each time!

3 Boxes of Raisin Bran – 3/$5
Use (3) $1.50/1 Safeway Peelie Coupons attached to each box
Use $1/2 Post Cereal, exp. 1-17-10 (SS 12/6/09
Final Price: $0.50 OVERAGE

Can you believe it worked?  I guess your mileage may vary from store to store or cashier to cashier for that matter, but pretty cool that it works.  So she was PAID $1.00 and given 6 boxes of cereal, way to go Jenny!

That’s great!

From time to time my total at Safeway has been negative and sometimes the cashier will say their store policy doesn’t pay customers but some cashiers will actually open the cash register and give you money back! YMMV

the safeway i go to depends on the person, some people abloustely would not accept coupons while other workers dont care. the best thing to do is self serve, you do what you want and nobody really cares.
