one thing i love is honesty. My sale swimmers are here for anyone visiting the pool with little one…we’ve had girls in blue and boys in pink all with one rule….if you want to get wet…you have to wear what i have….even funnier…lots of ladies in tshirts and mens trunks. Keep up the good work! Mom to 3 for 24 years!

Julia, Wow it is great to see 20 others who think you are a great mother and love your blog! I am glad to hear your son no longer cares about wearing pink pull ups. My point was you asked why he would care and how does he know since he is only 2. I was only trying to explain why he would care and since he was”NOT happy”
I only posted that because you asked and I thought I was being helpful not mean. I never said he would be traumatized.
That is a little extreme!!!
I just wanted his pic off your web site.
I have a freshman daughter and a son who is a junior. I know how mean kids can be it starts earlier than you think and all you have is faith and to raise them to have extremely high self esteem because when they go to school (even a Catholic school) other kids are mean.
So as a mother of teens I thought I would just anwser the questions YOUasked.
Like I said before I enjoy your site.
I was told about another site at my last book club and I did not like that site bec I thougt they were promoting items for there own finacial benefit. I came across your site and you seem very kind so I thought I would check it out. I do not like the swagbuck thing, but I suppose if I had access to so many viewers and helped them save money I might have done the same thing.
Have a great night with your family!! They grow up sooo fast!! Tonight It is my husband and I (kids are at a cavs game) So enjoy them while you can, seems like you have alot of younger parent followers.

You can’t even tell in the picture if it’s a boy or girl. I’ve done the same thing but to my daughter; had to use up her big brothers Cars pull-up and it was a Costco size box, so it took awhile. And right now she dressed in her princess dress and shoes so I don’t think it ruined her gender indentity.

LOL- too funny, I’m a mom of two boys, one still in diapers, and I would have done the same thing!!! Maybe you can give him markers and let him decorate them?? Crayola markers color on diapers well…

I would do it! It’s not like you are putting a pink outfit on him and submitting him to public humiliation. If anything, there is a lesson in this (not that he will remember it, because he is only 2). And the lesson is… don’t worry about what other people think. This reminds me of my 6th grade year in school. There were various color chairs in the classroom, blue, yellow and green. If you sat in a green chair you got made fun of and called “gay”. I mean really… does a green chair make you “gay”? Does wearing a pink pull up when you are two mean you can’t run for office when you are an adult?

as the mother of a teenager, preschooler, and toddler I can say he will not care. My teenage (son) does more embarrassing, clumsy, funny things to himself on a daily basis that the fact that 20 yrs ago his mom put pink pull ups on him will be the least of his worries. Their just pullups people- you pee in them! I dont see this women complaining when you are saving them money…Keep up the good work mama!

I asked my teens for their opinion, they were totally OK with it and didn’t think you were subjecting your son to trauma, but IF he really flips about it next time, guess it isn’t worth the “savings” – maybe one of your followers would swap them out for you

I think anybody who has a toddler (not had one 20 years ago) can totally relate to this post! Blue or pink – 2 year olds won’t remember in 15 years. & if it gets brought up later, just say “so what?” LOL You really think teenage kids are going go around saying “you wore PINK pull ups once when you were a baby, neener-neener”….. no! I know my friends pull their girls in boys undies and it’s no big deal!

I see nothing wrong with it. Boys watch Dora on a daily basis. What’s the big deal that he’s wearing a Dora pull-up?

Tracey – would you say the same thing if it was a picture of a girl wearing a Diego pull-up? Just curious.

I have 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy. My youngest daughter is big into super heroes and the like. There’s nothing wrong with that either.

Some people have way too much time on their hands… Pink/Blue… Who cares, really?? Job well done Julia!! I would have done the same excact thing!!

And on a side note, my husbands mother used to put him in pink clothes and guess what… He’s fine and very much a man and was never teased as a teenager!!
