Homemade Snow Globes

Mason jars are everywhere these days! The mark up is crazy, when you can create most of projects right at home. Here’s a great way to make Homemade Snow Globes using a few inexpensive items. This is something the kiddos can help with and I’m sure they’ll show all your Holiday Guests!

For this project you will need:

  • Jars (good shapes and sizes for your trees) – they could even be spaghetti sauce jars
  • Bottle Brush Trees (or any Christmas items you choose)
  • Buffalo Snow or any type of faux snow that you can find (Found some at Ace Hardware, randomly)

Arrange trees (or whatever items you choose) in the jar add fake snow and display. It’s really that simple. Most of my jars had hinge closures so I opted not to mimic the upside-down arrangement like the Anthroplogie ones.

(Anthropologie Snow Globe that retails for $40.)

But if you do yours like that, just glue your trees to the lid first and add snow to the jar.  Once the glue has dried, carefully replace the lid and flip over.

All the possibilities that you could create! I used an ornament in one of mine and a place card holder with a couple of jingle bells in another. The next ones I create may contain our pictures with Santa from years past.

Create and enjoy or give to someone as a gift this season!
