CVS is going green! They have a new card called Green Bag Tag for sale in their stores. (Likely found by the registers.) It retails for$0.99. It includes a leaf shaped scannable card that attaches to your favorite reusable bag. Each time you visit CVS and bring your reusable bag, they will scan your Green Bag Tag. The 4th time they scan your tag, you will earn a $1 Extra Care Buck that will print on your receipt. Wow!
Fine print on the back of the display the tag was on states:
“To earn Extra bucks for a transaction in store, your Extra care card, green bag tag, and reusable bag must be presented w/ purchase at checkout. Limit of one green tag use/scan per day per household. Every 4th purchase your ECB will print at the bottom of your cash register receipt as a $1 coupon good for your next purchase. Extra bucks can be used until the exp. date shown on the coupon….”
How will this benefit you? Well if you only go to CVS once a week, you’ll earn $13 a year just by bringing your bag! If you go 4 times a week, that’s $52 in a year!
Thanks CouponingtoDisney!

yay, this is exciting! And a great way to get me to use my reusable bags… I have a bunch and always forget to use them
THANKS for this! I have many ‘green’ bags, but most grocery stores around here stopped giving the five-cent discount. This is better…more like 25 cents!!
Whitney: I keep mine in the trunk so I always have them. Add it to your routine: after you put away groceries or drugstore items, put them back in the car. (If it is raining, I put them at the front door to remind me to take them back out.) HTH!
Just as a heads up – I called CVS – the tags will debut in all stores by October 27th!
