Birthday parties are expensive y’all! We all want to make the day fun for the kiddos while keeping an eye on the budget. I’ve compiled a list of 10 birthday supplies you should be buying at Dollar Treeif you are looking to celebrate while saving as much money as you can.
1. Mylar Balloons.
The selection varies by store, but they usually have solid stars and hearts as well as an assortment of other birthday mylars. These are $3.99 and up at other party stores. The $1 price already includes helium.
These happy birthday candles are $2.99+ in other stores. An absolute steal for $1.00
3. Superhero Capes (seasonal)
If you are planning a super hero party of any kind, how awesome would it be to give each kid their own cape as a favor? Love these. Stock up now because I’m sure they’ll be gone before we even hit Halloween.
I love these mini puzzle tins. So many popular characters too. Even if you can’t find the tin puzzles, the regular boxed puzzles are a great deal at $1. Perfect to give as prizes for the winners of party games. Or stack 5 of them together , wrap individually and then as a tower and give as a birthday gift.
5. Gift Bags
If you aren’t reusing the gift bags you already have, stock up. The larger bags that range from $4+ in other stores are still only $1. I love gift bags for kids – easier to open, carry and you don’t have wrap up weird corners.
6. Princess Crowns
Do you have a Princess or Frozen obsessed little girl? Grab some of these adorable crowns for her party guests. They can double as party favors to take home.
Planning to serve drinks in actual cups? Don’t forget the straws. Go for a fun Krazy straw or stock up on some basics.
The selection is surprisingly good! You will find both themed plates & napkins and also solid color options for plates, napkins and utensils.
These are just two samples of SUPER easy crafts/activities for a party. The one set pictured above even comes with it’s own set of markers. Considering this will keep the kids entertained for a long time, the $1 price tag is totally worth it.
10. Greeting Cards
If you don’t have time for the kids to make a card, stock up on some of the birthday cards (2/$1) and keep with your stock of gift bags. You can also find blank cards that can be used as Thank You notes for your kids to send after the party.
Did you know that you can do your Dollar Tree shopping online and have your order sent for free to your nearest store? This is a great option if you are pressed for time and just want to swing by the store and have everything waiting for you. Be sure to check out this option
