I thought you might also like to know that Burger King has a new promotion called Dash and Dine.  If you pay with your Visa until March 1st, customers who use their Visa card at participating Burger King restaurants have a chance to eat for free.

  • Every day, 50 winners will be selected to “eat free” on Burger King and Visa, by receiving the cost of their meal (up to $25)
  • During Dash and Dine hours (Tuesday and Thursdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m..), two winners will win 50x the cost of their meal! (a $500  value)

I use coupons and when deals are advertised, I take advantage of them(like Kids Eat Free). Depending on the place, I also see how large the portions are(can easily split a meal between two people).

We try to use coupons when we go out, and if we don’t have coupons, we often split meals. Thanks for entering me!

We drink water when we eat out to save $$$

We always budget a certain amount each month for eating out and set aside cash for that purpose. So…when the money’s out, no more eating out!

Kirsten March 3, 2010 at 12:34 pm

we dont buy kids/happy meals, etc. – you get less food and a cheap toy for alot more money! our 4 year old likes chicken nuggets and fries, so that is what we buy

We always use coupons when we eat out. Rarely do we eat somewhere that we do not have a coupon for.

I have a separate container in my purse w/fast food and restaurant coupons. If I have a coupon, we are more likely to stop at that restaurant.

We don’t eat out often, and try to snatch the ‘deals’ where we can. Being Vegetarian means that most fast food places don’t have deals often for that sort of things, but when they do, we like to have a treat once in a while. :)

We save money by eating out through using coupons and only drinking water.

Jill March 4, 2010 at 12:34 pm

We try to save money by winning gift cards. :)

We spend too much eating out but we usually split 3 kids meal for 2 kids (always enough food), order water, use coupons, and take advantage of kids eat free deals.

Stacey March 4, 2010 at 3:14 pm

I order water instead of another drink, and it’s healthier too!

We drink water and go out so sparingly- we don’t feel too bad if there are no super deals.

Reply

Lynn March 4, 2010 at 5:54 pm

The entrees are usually too big for one person to finish so we buy 2 and split between 3-4 people.

Our biggest weapon for saving money when eating out comes in two words…water please! I find that our meals are always way cheaper, and I can be a little healthier!!!

I try to go to places that we have coupons for. Sometimes I just drink water or get it to go to have drinks at home. Thanks! No I don’t usually specifically budget for it.
