99 Cents Store, Shopping Trips

The big watermelons have arrived!  Oh boy, I bought an entire 8 lb watermelon for only $1 at the 99 Cents Only Store.  Here are my other finds, all $1 ea:
.
1.   Fresh Strawberries from CA, 1 lb.
2.   Whole Seedless Watermelon, 8 lbs. ($1ea regardless of weight)
3.   Heritage Milk from CA, half-gallon
4.   Nancy’s Dessert Spirals, 12 ct. frozen
5.   Mrs. Smith’s Pumpkin Pie, 37 oz. frozen
6.   Chex Mix, 8.75 oz.
7.   White Onions, 2 lbs.
.
I jumped on the milk because it works out to $2/gallon, which beats my Personalized Price (Just for U) at Safeway by $.50!  Now, in the past, I’ve found organic milk half-gallons at my Clayton Rd store.  If you find those, you are lucky!  The Nancy’s Dessert Spirals retail for $5.49 at Safeway.  I found two varieties here for $1 — Double Chocolate or Strawberry Swirl.  If you’re hosting a shower, graduation, or Girl’s-Night-In these little desserts are easy and expensive-looking.
.
Last night, I stumbled upon the Extreme Couponing television show.  One of the couponers spends 20 hours/week preparing for her shopping trip.  I personally do not have the time, energy, or attention span.  Instead, I simply shop at the 99 Cent Only Store for great deals, no coupons necessary!  And it is not time-consuming.  Below is an example of what I accomplished in merely five minutes:
.
Spent $5 | Spent 5 minutes | Got 10 lbs. of Produce
(2) Fresh Strawberries, l lb. boxes
(1) Potatoes, 5 lb. bag
(1) Organic Fresh Kale, warehouse-sized 1 lb box
(1) Whole Fresh Cantaloupe
.

You always have great finds there Jolene! We stopped there last night, as I was *hoping* for some doll fashions that would fit my daughter’s Barbie’s because she has informed me they need some clothes! And, they are expensive in the regular stores. I also was hoping for some cute patriotic supplies, but didn’t really see a whole lot yet. I did get some cute items at Easter time.

Tamara H , thank you, I credit the fantastic employees who refresh stock & make it easy for me! For patriotic stuff, wait until Fathers Day & Graduation has passed. Expecting to see patriotic stuff for 4th of July to appear in the Seasonal Aisle then.

I find it amazing when the huge warehouse-sized pack is sitting right next to the little 5 oz. bag … and both are priced the same @ $1 ;)
