Finding good coupons for fresh produce is rare. I depend on my produce finds every week at the 99 Cents Only Store. Learn your particular store’s days for delivery of fruits & veggies and shop on those days. At my store on Clayton Rd., the produce is delivered Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Here’s what’s new from today’s trip:
1. Fresh Herbs, mind-boggling variety in 2 oz. bags
2. Earthbound Farm Organic Baby Kale, 5 oz. (also Salad Mix)
3. Fresh Kiwi, 1 lb. bag
4. Quaker Quakes 100-Calorie Variety Pack, 8 pk.
5. Bear Naked Peak Protein Natural Granola, 2 oz.
6. Cap’n Crunch Cereal, 9.4 oz.
7. Dannon Dan-o-nino Yogurt, 6 pk.
8. Kraft Mayo w/Lime, 30 oz.(Best by 6/6/12)
The most frugal way to get fresh herbs is your own DIY Herb Garden. However, if you lack a green thumb like me, it’s nice to see fresh herbs available here for only $1, no coupons necessary! I spotted Basil, Rosemary, Mint, Chives, Thyme, Chives and Parsley. To make the herbs last longer in my fridge, I gently wrap a damp paper towel around them, and place in a Ziploc bag. We love the organic baby kale! I stir-fry it with some olive oil and fresh garlic, salt, and pepper. It’s also great to toss in to Lentil St-oup. This baby kale is tender and mild, unlike the large kale.
The Quaker Quakes 8-pack is also a nice deal. I’m noticing a lot of portion-controlled 100-calorie packs arriving here. With swimsuit season around the corner, these are popular! They also re-stocked the Snackwell’s which I shared with you two weeks ago, so go get them if you missed out last time.

Last week my store had Oscar Mayer Roast Beef and Ham ….they must have just changed their packaging, because I just had purchased some at Safeway with coupons for $1.99! The only difference I saw was the package.

Yes, good point, Ronni. Manufacturer’s often do package re-designs. That is good news for those of us who stop at 99 Cents Only & Grocery Outlet since they end up at these places for a low price!

The Antioch store had melon everywhere! Personal sized watermelons, cantelope, honeydew etc… yay!
Jolene May 29, 2012 at 5:18 pm
Lucky you! Especially since they sell the entire melon for only $1! I am still waiting for Clayton Rd to receive watermelons. I loaded-up today on nectarines. Super sweet…and my kids actually ask for a fresh nectarine for afterschool snack

I got one of each and will probably be going back for more! I have had consistant good luck with their melons being ripe and sweet!
I wish I would have seen the Quaker Quakes at the Antioch one… I <3 those! And the kiwis would have made a nice snack also… but that is my favorite part about this store, you never know what you are going to find!

My store had 12 ct boxes of Ritz Crackerfuls! I was happily surprised!! Ready for the sunscreen though!!!
Jolene May 29, 2012 at 5:31 pm
Linda H, wow! So it was $1 for an uncut box containing 12 snack-sized Crackerfuls packs?
I am still waiting on name brand sunscreen, too. They have unfamiliar brand of sunscreen now.
